The Cambodian government and people donated COVID-19 medical supplies to Myanmar yesterday morning.
Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe, in his capacity as the Secretary 2 of the National-Level Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19, received the donations unloaded from the 3 special flights at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
Cambodian Health Minister Professor Mam Bunheng delivered the greeting message from the Prime Minister of Cambodia to the State Counsellor of Myanmar, and said that Cambodia and Myanmar had friendly relations for a long time and the two countries are cooperating for peace, security and sustainable development with multi-nations and ASEAN countries. He added the year 2020 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Myanmar. He said the donations are a testament to Cambodia’s friendship and solidarity with Myanmar when the world is facing unpredictable health and human security challenges.
The Cambodia Minister handed over the donated 2 million masks, 100,000 fabric face masks, 20,000 N95 masks, 20,000 goggles, 20,000 PPE 500 sets of Infrared Temperature Manual Check, 20,000 face shields, 20 ventilator machines for ICU, 20 patient monitors and accessories, 500 buckets of Chlorine powder;,1,000 protective boots and 2,000 hand sanitizers to Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe.
The Union Minister expressed words of thanks and said the donation items will be useful for the public campaign to wear face masks in every state and region in Myanmar. —MNA
