China-Myanmar documentary ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ launches in Nay Pyi Taw

The launch ceremony of the documentary ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ was held at Kempinski Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint, National Radio and Television Administration of China (NRTA) Minister Mr Nie Chenxi, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, department heads, and officials from NRTA, Yunnan Media Group (YMG) and Myanmar TV channel YTV attended the launch ceremony.

Firstly, the NRTA Minister delivered a speech where he said the documentary introduces the natural geography connecting the Phauk-Phaw relations of Myanmar and China and the friendly relations between the two countries in addition to Myanmar’s captivating natural scenery, culture and the local people’s enthusiasm for a bright future.

Mr Nie Chenxi said he hopes that with the attainment of 70 years of diplomatic relations, cooperation in the media sector and China-Myanmar friendly relations will be further augmented.

Next, the Union Minister for Information delivered a speech where he said his ministry and China’s State Council Information Office signed an MoU on information cooperation in December 2017 and has cooperation on all relevant sectors concerning information dissemination.

Dr Pe Myint said one of these areas of cooperation involves dubbing Chinese TV series with Myanmar language and broadcasting them on MRTV starting from August 2017, with eight TV series accomplished in this process so far.

The Union Minister said this launch ceremony of ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ a four-part documentary spanning 30 minutes each, is a sign of media cooperation between both nations and expressed his delight.

He said his ministry will continue to cooperate in recording and broadcasting TV series, customs and culture, and travel programmes of both nations in documentary series.

A sample of ‘Beautiful Myanmar’ co-produced by YMG and YTV, was then played, after which Director Zhou Wei Ping, YMG Producer Miss Hai Yun and YTV Producer Daw Nan Saw Htwe Myint explained the creation of the documentary.

Afterwards, YMG President Mr He Yaning handed over the film rolls for the Chinese cuisine programme, Pu’er tea, Yunnan tastes and Mu Phu TV series and Deputy Director of China Agriculture and Television Center Mr Ouyang Haihong handed over film rolls for agricultural programmes which were all received by Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
