Drugs confiscated in some Townships

Acting on a tip-off, Police members from Myawaddy Anti-Drug Squad raided the house of Phyo Wai Kyaw on Ayetharyar Road in Ward-4 in the town of Myawaddy, Kayin State yesterday, and arrested two men, identified as Aung Pyae Phyo and Zaw Lin Aung along with 1004 stimulant tablets and a mobile phone from them, according to the information released by Myanmar Police Force.

 

In a similar incident, Police members from Namhsan Anti-Drug Squad raided the house of Zaw Oo in Ward-5 in the town of Namhsan in southern Shan State and seized 1550 stimulant tablets in the house.

 

Similarly, Policemen from Mabein  Myoma Police Station searched the house of Ma Aye Lwin in the town of Mabein, Shan State(North), and seized 8900 stimulant tablets in the house.

 

Security forces also confiscated ICE drugs weighing 6 kilos near Thai-Myanmar border about three miles south of Pachi Village in Mongtong Township, Shan State (East) on 2 April.

 

The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
