With the aim to increase fish resources and to promote fish production, a ceremony to release fingerlings into paddy fields and natural lakes was held in Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State this morning.
At the ceremony, a total of 55,000 fish species of different kinds including 20,000 into Kyakan pond and 35,000 into paddy fields in Taungpalu village in the township were released by the officials.
On the occasion, officials from Mon State and Township Department of Fisheries, MP of Pyithu Hluttaw, Deputy Township Administrator, departmental personnel, members of Women Affairs Committee and social organizations, Ward and Village Administrators and local residents were in attendance.
