India's COVID-19 tally rose to 43,004,005 on Friday as 2,528 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.
Besides, 149 deaths due to the pandemic since Thursday morning took the total death toll to 516,281.
There are still 29,181 active COVID-19 cases in the country with a fall of 1,618 active cases during the past 24 hours.
So far 42,458,543 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals so far, out of which 3,997 were discharged during the past 24 hours.
