Magway Region sees 27 new virus cases

Magway Region reported 13 new covid-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of virus caseload to 3,197, according to data updated by the Department of Public Health.


There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The recorded virus patients on January24 were from Magway, Pwintbyu, Minbu, Chauk, Salin, Taungdwingyi and Myaing Townships.


A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, 277 covid-19 patients are receiving medical treatment at various hospitals in the region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.


Magway Region recorded 3,197 confirmed coronavirus cases in total, with over 2,908 patients discharging from hospital and 12 deaths.
