MoI holds seminar on Myanmar media trend

The Ministry of Information organized a seminar on the trend of Myanmar media, with focus on online media and copyright, at its headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. Union Minister Dr Pe Myint made an opening speech, mentioning the aim of seminar that the form of media and its landscape have changed into digital platform in various ways and those who are working at the MoI need to know not only the global and local media situations, as well as the changing trend. Acting Director-General of Printing and Publishing Department U Ko Ko Naing explained Print Media amid Digital Revolution and Society Changes. A round table discussion was also held on the topic of online media and copyright, in which Staff Officer from Myanmar Radio and Television U Kyaw Thet Lin acted as moderator.


Deputy Director-General from Information and Public Relations Department U Kyaw Htay discussed the Copyright Laws, Assistant Director from MRTV Daw Myat Kyay Mhone discussed online media and broadcasting media. Editor Daw May Thu Soe from PPD held talks on print media, and Editor Daw Honey Win from NPE discussed Myanmar’s media trend and News Media Law. Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun commented the need for the best preparations in facing unavoidable changing trend of media. Union Minister Dr Pe Myint made a concluding remark on the discussion.
