Hinthada, 19 February
A ceremony to give Paukphaw scholarship to university students was held at the meeting hall in Hinthada University in the town of hinthada, Ayeyarwady region this morning.
The scholarship was given by China Poverty Reduction Foundation (Myanmar Branch Office). At the event, Vice Rector Dr. Mar Lar of Hinthada University made opening remarks. Then, Mr. Daniel, project officer of Myanmar Branch Office under China Poverty Reduction Foundation reported on the aim of giving scholarship. Afterwards Vice Rector Dr. Mar Lar and Mr Daniel gave K 150000 each for the first half of the academic year to 50 university students who faces difficulty in pursuing their studies. Then, they posed for a documentary together with the students.
China Poverty Reduction Foundation has been consecutively implementing the projects which contributed to Myanmar’s education sector. Since 2015-2016 academic year, the foundation provided US$ 1.5 million for 1200 students from 12 universities and colleges in Myanmar.—IPRD(Hinthada)
