Slight earthquake hits Gangaw Twsp

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 26 miles southeast of Gangaw, Magway Region. It was recorded at 6:44 p.m. on September 7 at a latitude of 21.97°N, and longitude of 94.47°E, with a depth of 29 kilometers and about 60 miles northwest of the NyaungU seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
