YUDE to open two fully online certificate courses

THE Yangon University of Distance Education will soon be opening two online certificate courses from its Chemistry Department and led by the Human Resource Development Department.

 

According to U Aung Khaing Than, Head of the Academic Affairs Department of YUDE, one of the course will be on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the other on Water and Sanitation for Occupational Purposes (WSOP) and will be taught online through a web-based teaching system. Both courses will be 3-months long and are fully online certificate courses.

 

The courses are open to students who have taken the matriculation exams, graduated civil servants, and company or civil society organization members who can take them from any region or workplace they are located at. Registering and paying fees can be conducted online and application forms can be sent to www.udechem.edu.mm starting from 16 June.

 

A hundred students will be accepted and selected candidates will be informed either online or by phone. Admitted students must make payments with KBZ QuickPay starting from 18 June. Students will have received their username and password after successful payments and the courses will begin on 9 July.

 

Both courses will be three months long and cost K50,000 each. Classes will take 3 hours per week and instructions are available in the Myanmar and English Languages. Certificates of completion can be sent online or by mail.

 

Dr Thazin Lwin, the head of YUDE’s Chemistry Department, said learning good manufacturing practices will inform people how daily food products are manufactured, quality maintenance, ensuring food safety and nutrition.

 

Course graduates will be able to work in any manufacturing industry systematically and safely and have higher chances of being employed by factories and workplaces. The Water and Sanitation for Occupational Purpose (WSOP) course aim to impart appropriate skills to maintain water resources, build the resilient human resource, and conserve the natural environment.
