Electricity has been supplied to 746 villages in six townships in Taungoo District in Bago Region in the financial year 2019-2020, according to statistics compiled by the Electricity Supply Enterprise.
Taungoo District comprises Taungoo, Yedashe, Htatabin, Ottwin, Pyu, and Kyaukkyi Townships. A total of 746 villages in the district have been provided with electricity through the National Grid under the National Electrification Plan (NEP) or on self-reliant basis in the previous fiscal year.
Arrangement are being made to supply electricity to 320 villages in the district under the NEP scheme and some rural electrification facilities will be built on self-reliant basis in the incumbent fiscal year.
