Magway Region detects record virus cases

61 news coronavirus cases were recorded in Magway Region on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed virus cases in the region to 3,299, according to the Department of Public Health.


There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed covid-19 patients on January 26 were from Magway, Chauk, Yenangyoung, Minbu, Aunglan, Natmauk, Seikphyu, Pakkoku, and Thayet Townships.


A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Most of the virus patients are returnees, the truck drivers and their assistants, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.


There are 3,299 confirmed covid-19 cases in Magway Region, with 13 deaths.
