Magway Region sees record number of daily covid-19 cases

Magway Region reported 60 new virus cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of virus caseload to 2,904, according to figure updated by the Department of Public Health.

 

There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The virus patients on December 31 were from Minbu, Aunglan, Salin, Pwintbyu, Taungdwingyi, Pakkoku, Chauk, Yenangyoung, Magway and Myothit Townships.

 

A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, 297 virus patients are being treated at various hospitals in the region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.

 

Magway Region recorded 2,904 confirmed covid-19 cases in total, with 2,607 patients discharging from hospital and nine fatalities.—Than Naing Oo (Ngaphe)
