Slight earthquake hits Kyangin Twsp

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 9miles southwest of Kyangin, Ayeyawady Region. It was recorded at 10:20 p.m. on August 27 at a latitude of 18.22°N, and longitude of 95.17°E, with a depth of 25 kilometers and about 57 miles northeast of the Gwa seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
