Slight earthquake strikes Minkin Township

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were reported following a slight earthquake which was recorded this morning, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.


An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 9 miles southwest of Minkin Township in Sagaing Region. It was recorded at 7:10 a.m. today at a latitude of 22.75°N, and longitude of 94.47°E, with a depth of 84 kilometers and about 73 miles southwest of the Kanbalu seismological observatory, said the DMH.
