Slight earthquake jolts Nay Pyi Taw

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar hit about four miles west northwest of Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council. It was recorded at 0:59 a.m. today at a latitude of 19.91°N, and longitude of 96.14°E, with a depth of 3 kilometers and about 9 miles north of the Nay Pyi Taw seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
