A pre-monsoon tree planting ceremony was held this morning at the Maubin Industrial Zone compound in Nyaung Waing Village, Maubin Township, Ayeyarwady Region. The event was organized by the Township Forestry Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
The initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability, mitigate the effects of heat waves, and raise public awareness about the importance of forests and trees.
U Myint Naing, Chairman of the District Administration Body, along with his staff; U Toe Toe Win, Chairman of the Township Administration Body; U Win Shwe, Head of the Township Forestry Department; departmental officials; and local social organizations participated in the event.
Together, attendees planted 500 trees, including teak (50), manjangsha (200), yamanaya (120), seinpan (50), khayay (50), and yaytama (30).— Aung Myint Myat (IPRD)
