Yenangyaung Township in Magway Region plans to plant 88,957 acres of sesame and peanuts this rainy season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
So far, 6,414 acres of sesame and 9,052 acres of peanuts have been planted. The department has targeted 23,350 acres for sesame and 67,292 acres for peanuts. Officials are also supporting farmers with cultivation techniques to boost yields and household income.— U San Nyunt,
