A press conference before the match between the Myanmar National Football Team and the Afghanistan Team as the first group match of the third-round qualifier of the 2027 Asian Cup took place at the press conference room of the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre yesterday.
Head Coach of Myanmar Team U Myo Hlaing Win revealed: “The match against the Afghanistan team is important because it is the opening match. Playing at home is also an advantage for us. We have studied and prepared well to play against the Afghanistan team.”
Wing attacker Thiha Zaw said, “This match is very important. We have studied the Afghanistan team’s skills and power. Since we have home support, it gives us an advantage. I also invite the fans to come and cheer us on.”
Afghanistan national team coach Usmon Toshev commented, “It will be a difficult match for both sides. The Myanmar team is good. We have selected players from Europe, America, and domestically for our team.”
The match between Myanmar and Afghanistan teams will take place at the Youth Training Centre at 5 pm on 25 March. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
