Hsipaw 18 January
The 43rd free eye care services were conducted for the second day at Sitagu Sakkudana Hospital in Hsipaw, north of Shan State this morning.
Under the guidance of Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nanissara the free eye care services were conducted with the supervision of Bhaddanta Pannasiri from the Board of Hsipaw Maha Myat Muni Pagoda’s trustees. The occasion was conducted by eye specialists from Yangon and Mandalay starting from 16 January. On the first day, 285 people underwent eye tests and 53 patients under surgical operations. Today, a total of 679 people are being provided eye tests and 131 are undergoing surgical operations.
Local residents not only in Hsipaw but also Lashio, Kyaukme, Naungcho, Namsan (north) and nearby villages are enjoying free eye care services which continue until 20 January.
