72 more virus cases conformed in Magway Region

72 more coronavirus cases were reported in Magway Region on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region to 1,954 according to the Department of Public Health.


There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed virus patients on December 14 were from Magway, Aunglan, Gangaw, Taungdwingyi, Pakkoku, Salin and Natmauk Townships.


A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. As of December 14, a total of 1,954 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Magway Region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.


A total of 454 virus patients are being treated at the hospitals in Magway Region, with1,496 patients recovering from deadly virus and four deaths.
