Advance voting of Myanmar citizens begins in UAE, continues in Thailand, Singapore, Russia

Myanmar Embassy in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia coordinated with relevant authorities for advance voting of Myanmar citizens in United Arab Emirates for the 2020 General Election and an outside polling station was opened at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai yesterday.


About 250 Myanmar citizens cast their advance ballots yesterday in Dubai and the polling booth will be continuously open on 18 October.


Moreover, advance voting of Myanmar citizens in Bangkok, Singapore and Moscow continued their advance voting yesterday for the 2020 General Election. The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok of Thailand facilitated the voting of 367 citizens while the embassies of Singapore and Russia managed the voting of 1,800 persons and 8 persons respectively.


The relevant embassies provided systematic support and assistance in accordance with COVID-19 preventive and control measures set by the receiving countries and the voters cast their ballots systematically by following the prescribed regulations.


There were a total of 2,425 citizens cast their ballots in three Myanmar embassies and an outside polling station yesterday.
