Amyotha Hluttaw discuss regulating tissue-culture banana plantations

A 14th–day meeting of the 14th regular session of the Second Amyotha Hluttaw was held at Amyotha Hluttaw building yesterday morning where Hluttaw discusses a motion on regulating tissue-culture banana plantations.

 

Earlier, asterisk marked questions were raised and answered and a bill approved.

In the asterisk marked question and answer session a question raised by U Lal Min Htan of Chin State constituency 10 on using MPT communication towers in Chin State Matupi Township not only as micro links but also for retransmission was answered by Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Tha Oo and a question raised by U Soe Thein of Kayah State constituency 9 on resolving the issue of internal migration was answered by Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe.

 

Similarly questions raised by U Hla Myint (a) U Hla Myint Than of Mon State constituency 11 on action planned against illegal plantations near a reservoir providing water to public servant housings, two military battalion camps and two high schools; U Okka Min of Taninthayi Region constituency 8 on plan to provide water supply to villages in Taninthayi Region Myeik District Kyunsu Township and U Win Aung of Sagaing Region constituency 3 on measuring 35.57 acres of land in Kayin State Myawady Township were answered by Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw.

 

Hluttaw approves fish breeding bill

 

Next, bill committee member Brig-Gen Tint Lwin read and explained the committee report on fish breeding bill and Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than obtained the decision of the Hluttaw and approved the bill clause by clause.

 

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Hla Kyaw then tabled a motion for the Hluttaw to approve the bill as amended and the motion was seconded by U Mya Min Swe of Magway Region constituency 9.

 

As there was no objection, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker announced the Hluttaw approving the bill as amended.

In the final agenda of the day U Min Swe Naing of Kachin State constituency 6, U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1, U Khin Myo Win of Taninthayi Region constituency 12, Dr San Maung Maung of Bago Region constituency 1, U Ze Khaung of Kachin State constituency 3 and Tatmadaw representatives Major Zawana discussed a motion tabled by Dr Khun Win Thaung of Kachin State constituency 11 on properly regulating tissue-culture banana plantations in Myanmar.
