Ayeyarwady Foundation signs contract to buy $2mln worth of medical equipment

Ayeyawady Foundation, which is working on COVID-19 preventive measures under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Sports, signed an agreement to purchase medical equipment worth $2 million from foreign country for Ayeyawady Centre.


The Ayeyawady Foundation currently operates 1000-bed Test and Care Ayayawady Centre with more than 700 volunteers including the medics and nurses for COVID-19 patients.


It will buy $2 million worth of 1,250 beds for hospitals, 200 ICU/HDU beds, tents, liquid oxygen storage tank (20 tonnes), PPE and N95 masks.


The AYA Bank and Max Myanmar Group donated $2 million to buy such medical equipment and signed an agreement with the companies on 17 October.


Some of the equipment will arrive in Myanmar within one week and all the items will be in next three weeks.
