BEHS under construction in Khaingkam

Zomi Land, a local construction company won a contract award to build a basic education high school in Khaingkam Town, Tiddim District in Chin State.

The tender winning company embarked on construction of the high school in Khaingkam on 16 March. The two-storey facility will be of reinforced concrete type and measures 140 ft. in length and 30 ft. in width. It will be built with Ks. 323 million allocated from the local government’s funds.

A primary school was opened in Khaingkam in 1971 as a self-reliant basis and was promoted to a government-funded primary school in 1979. The school became a middle school in 2014 and was upgraded to a high school in 2017. The newly-constructed school has admitted 727 students in this academic year.—IPRD
