An invitational open Sepak takraw contest kicked off at a sepak takraw court in Danubyu Township, Ayeyawady Region on 3 February.
The event headlined, “Township Development Committee Chairman’s Trophy” is organized by the Sports and Physical Education Department under its Township Sports Development Programme (TSDP). At first, Township Administrator U Kyaw Kyaw Oo, Chairperson of the township development committee U Tin Maung Win and concerned officials opened the competition by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.
Afterwards, the township administrator gave an opening speech and the township development committee chairperson explained the purpose of the tournament. A total of 11 teams are participating in the game that runs from 3 to 7 February.—Htet Wai Phyo
