The death toll from the ferryboat capsized in Egypt's Nile River on Sunday has climbed to 10, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Labor on Monday.
The ministry said that the ferryboat, which capsized in Niklah village of Giza governorate near the capital Cairo, carried 15 irregular workers, "10 of whom were killed, and five others were injured."
It also identified the 15 workers by name, noting that they were employed on a project for a contracting company.
The family of each deceased worker will receive a financial aid of 200,000 Egyptian pounds (about 6,500 U.S. dollars), and each injured worker will get 20,000 Egyptian pounds, according to the ministry.
Early on Sunday, Egypt's Health Ministry reported that three workers had lost their lives in the accident, noting this count was "preliminary" as rescue teams continued to search for the missing workers.
