DRD-funded rural road being built in Htigyaing Township

Htigyaing, 12 March

A rural road is being built in Paukkon Village, Htigyaing Township in Sagaing Region, according to a source from the Department of Rural Development.

Officials from the DRD went to construction site and urged representatives from the private company to construct the rural road in a timely manner, meet the set standard and give suggestions. The rural road will be 2 miles and four furlongs, 12 ft. wide, 9 inch thick and is being built with almost Ks. 92 million by a tender winning company.

Upon completion of the road, it is expected to benefit around 800 acres of farmland belonging to farmers from four villages, helping them transport their products to the markets rapidly.—Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
