Eye patients treated for 5th time at Sitagu Eye Hospital in Yangon

From 1 to 5 April, experts performed surgeries for 313 patients with eye diseases at Sitagu Eye Hospital, located near the Bailey Bridge in Da­gon Myothit (North) Township, Yangon.

 

Since the programme’s inception in January 1993, this marks the fifth time patients have received treatment at the hospital. Prior to this round, a total of 6,124 eye patients had been examined, with 1,681 un­dergoing surgery, and 119 re­ceiving laser treatment. With this latest session, the total number of surgeries performed has now surpassed 2,000.

 

Sitagu Sayadaw estab­lished approximately 50 eye hospitals nationwide, resulting in over 200,000 patients regain­ing their eyesight. — TWA/KZL
