Final frame of new Myaungmya Bridge installed

A ceremony to install the final part of the steel structure framing of the new Myaungmya Bridge was held yesterday on the Myaungmya side of the construction site on the Labutta-Myaungmya-Einme-Kyaung Kone-Kyonpyaw Road in Myaungmya Township of Ayeyawady Region.


Before the installation, Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw and Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin confirmed the durability of the bridge based on the finding results of survey data.

Then, Union Minister U Han Zaw, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Hla Moe Aung, Ayeyawady Region Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Kyaw Khaing, Myaungmya Township Pyithu Hluttaw representative Dr. Soe Moe Thu, and Region Hluttaw representative of Myaungmya Township Daw Khaing Zin Oo took their designated places to witness the first stage of the installation of the bridge’s final section and sprinkled it with holy water.

Afterwards, Deputy Minister U Kyaw Lin, the Ayeyawady Region Electricity, Power, Industry, and Communications Minister, U Win Htay, the Myaungmya Township Amyotha Hluttaw representative, Mahn Tun Kyaing, the Region Hluttaw representative of Myaungmya Township, U Than Zaw Win, and the Bridge Department’s construction team No.1 Director (Civil), U Myo Win, took their designated places for the installation of the second stage of the bridge’s final steel structure with torque shear wrenches and sprinkled it with holy water.


The installation ceremony of the final part of the new Myaungmya Bridge was successfully concluded with commemorative group photos of the Union Minister and guests. J&M Steel Solution, incorporated by the JFE Company and the Ministry of Construction, created the detailed design and produced the steel frames for the bridge.


The main body of the steel truss deck-type bridge was constructed using new technology.


Construction team No.1 of the Bridge Department, under the Ministry of Construction, began work on the new Myaungmya Bridge on 1 May 2017, with target to finish the bridge by end-March 2019.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
