Fire engulfs house in Thongwa

A fire broke out at Daw Nu Nu’s house in the far north of Seywa village in Thonegwa Township, Yangon Region at 2:20 pm yesterday.

The fire started from an ember left in the house and it was extinguished in twenty minutes. Five fire engines and one water truck from the fire stations of Thonegwa, Tada and Thanlyin were pressed to fight the fire.

In the fire, a granary measuring 70 feet by 30 feet, a house belongs to Daw Nu Nu Win and another three small houses owned by U Tun Thein, U Chit Han and U San Naing were lost. There was no report of death and injury to people and animal. Action is being taken against Daw Nu Nu Win by Thonegwa Myoma police station for her negligence.— Ko Kyaw ( Thonegwa)
