Free eye care services being offered in Maei

An ophthalmology team offered free eye care services to local people in Rakhine State at a public hospital in Maei. 

 

The eye care services were executed with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Rakhine State government under the aegis of the Alotawpyae Sayadaw. More than 3,000 eye patients from Maei, Yanbye, Kyaukphyu, Minbya and Myebon Townships enlisted their names to receive eye care services. Among the registered eye patients, 1,240 have been conducted medical check-ups by the team.

 

The ophthalmology team also performed eye surgery for 138 patients in the first day. The free eye care services will be given to patients till 25 January.—Maung Maung Htay (IPRD)
