Hikers from Myingyan College climb Mt. Pyatkhayuay in Myittha Township

The 183 members from the Myingyan Degree College Hiking and Mountaineering Association reached the summit of 3734-ft-high Mt. Pyatkhayuay in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region on Saturday.

 

Under the guidance of principal of the Myingyan Degree College Dr. Maung Maung and with the leadership of the chairperson of the college hiking and mountaineering association and dean of the Department of Zoology Dr. Khin Lay Yi, a group of mountaineers consisting of faculty members, students, college employees, and medical staff successfully climbed the mountain which is thought to be a center point of Myanmar.

 

Along the trip, the hikers studied historical background of the mountain, Myanmar literature, emergence of flora and fauna, nature of wild animals, and geological location of the jungle.
