Mongphyat, 14 February
A house was engulfed in a fire that broke out in Kaunghmu (Lower) village, Kaunghmu village-tract, Mongphyat township, Shan state (East) this morning.
The fire was believed to have started from an overheated battery connected to a solar panel in the house of U Kani. Soon after receiving the news, a joint contingent of firefighters, local police and officials led by Towship Administrator U Thet Lwin rushed to the scene and put out the fire. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. The house of U kani was destroyed beyond recognition in the fire, which left no one dead or injured.
Action is being taken against U Kani for his negligence.— Than Tun Aye (IPRD)
