Illegal uncut jades seized in Namittee

As many as 152 illegal uncut jades were seized in Namitee, Mogaung Township, Kachin State yesterday.

 

Acting on a tip-off, local police members led by Police Inspector Zaw Laung Aung together with eye witnesses from Namitee Police Station searched three motorbikes driven by Zaw Min Aung, 28, Lin Htain alias Wa Toke, 27 and Kyaw Thet Oo, 24 of Yampu Ward, Myitkyina, Kachin State on Myitkyina-Shwebo highway near Namitee and seized 70 uncut jades from Zaw Min Aung, 48 uncut jades from Lin Htain and 34 uncut jades from Kyaw Thet Oo totaling 152 weighing 149.4 kilos.  

 

The Namitee Police Station has filed charges against the three under Section-51 (a) of the Myanmar Gems Law.—Win Naing (Kachin)
