With the aim of raising awareness on scourge of drugs, informative talk was held at the drug addiction treatment center in Yangon Village in Tachilek Township of eastern Shan State at 9:00 am on April 26.
During the event, the District Police Chief Police Lt-Col Chan Myet Win, the Township Acting Police Chief Police Major Thein Tun Aung and Police Captain Aye Tun Thein discussed the scourge of drugs and detailed the disadvantages of narcotic drugs, offences and penalties for drug cases and preventive measures against the drugs respectively.
A total of 50 drug addicts attended the event. On the occasion, the District Police Chief Police Lt-Col Chan Myet Win and members provided juices, onions and potatoes to 137 drug addicts from the drug addiction treatment center in the village.—Than Zaw(IPRD)
