Two of the workers, including a reporter, were killed and six others were wounded.

The militant group took responsibility for the bombing in a statement.

They said that the attack targeted a bus carrying employees of the TV station which they described as loyal to the Afghan government.

The chief executive at the TV station, Mohammad Rafi Sediqi, told Afghan media that a terror attack against free speech and expression should never be tolerated, and that the attack should never be forgotten.

The militants have carried out terror attacks in Kabul and the eastern city of Jalalabad since the United States and the Taliban signed a peace agreement in February.

Jalalabad was once the group's stronghold.
