Joint Committee on Amending the 2008 Constitution held its meeting 70/2019 at the Hluttaw Building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
It was attended by Chairman of the Joint Committee on Amending the 2008 Constitution Deputy Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw U Tun Aung (a) U Tun Tun Hein, Vice Chairman of the committee and Deputy Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw U Aye Tha Aung, Secretary of the Joint Committee Dr Myat Nyanna Soe, Joint-Secretary U Htay Win (a) U Pyone Cho and members of the joint committee representatives of the political parties and the Tatmadaw, and officials of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Office. At today’s meeting, the joint committee discussed “the Chapter 11 : Provisions on State of Emergency” of the 2008 Constitution.
The joint committee has completed the chapter-wise amending from the Preamble to the Chapter 9 : Election, and the Chapter-10 Political Parties suggested by political parties and independent representatives.—MNA
