Keep on practising physical distancing to make public places safer

Keeping space between each other is still one of the best tools to prevent global pandemic COVID-19. In daily life, it is impossible to dissociate from each other while staying away. It is better to limit close contact with others, either in indoor or outdoor spaces as the virus may spread even before someone is sick. Therefore, staying away from each other is important for everybody although they might not show any symptoms.

The more spaces there are between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread. While restrictions are eased in many areas, it is important for everyone to continue practising physical distancing amid the ongoing threats of this pandemic.

Practising social distancing would be challenging for many people in personal circumstances or situations.
However, recent studies indicate that people with no symptoms play a role in the spread of COVID-19 through their coughs, sneezes, or talks when droplets from the mouth or nose enter such organs of other persons nearby.

Social distancing can also reduce touching with the surface or objects where the coronavirus can live for hours or days, although sunlight and humidity are important factors.

Despite the different levels of infection risks, anyone could be the resource person for getting and spreading COVID-19, therefore everyone needs to have vigilance to protect themselves, their family and their societies.

There are also some suggestions that facemasks should not be used on children under age 2 as they are unable to remove the mask without external assistance when they encounter breathing problems.
People of all ages, including teens and younger adults, need to avoid gatherings of any size outside their households, such as indoor or outdoor entertainments, restaurants or any other places, as well as public places.

Discussions are being made to reopen schools phase by phase. In this situation, children should not have in-person playdates outside school hours.

Although it is necessary to keep in touch with friends and family away from us, we will have to stay connected while staying away by using the internet or smart phones. Everybody should cope with stressful situations of social or physical distancing and keeping away from someone we love. In fact, temporary social distancing is a small price to pay for us to live longer with family and friends. Always be aware of social or physical distancing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which is still with us.
