MJN donates school supplies to students affected by fire in Pyapon

Pyapon, 13 January

 

As many as 141 households from Chaungwa Village in Pyapon Township, Ayeyawady Region have been affected by the recent fire that broke out on 3 January.

 

School supplies such as stationery and uniforms belonging to 157 students have been consumed by the blaze. The Myanmar Journalist Network (Ayeyawady Region) and some benefactors from Yekyi and Ngathaingchaung Townships donated stationery, school uniforms and food carrier sets to the students. The estimated amount of donation is about Ks. 1.2 million.

 

Members of the MJN handed over the contributions to the students through Township Education Officer U Toe Win and Headmistress of Chaungwa basic education middle school Daw Si Si Mon at the office of the Department of Education in Pyapon yesterday.—Min Zaw Oo (Yekyi)
