22 March

Myawady FC broke the repeated win record of Junior Lions FC, which has already garnered six consecutive winning results in the Myanmar National League II match, in the competition played at Padonmar Stadium in Yangon yesterday.

Myawady beat Junior Lions by a narrow 2-1 result.

The winning goals for Myawady were scored by strikers Kaung Sithu and Phone Kyaw Zin.

Myawady FC got their opener just at 2 minutes, marked by striker Kaung Sithu.

After 1-0, Myawady FC changed their style of play to completely defensive and that caused the difficult attack to the youth strikers of Junior Lions FC.

The first half was ended by a goal leading by Myawady.

The second half saw blocking play of the Myawady FC players but they relied on counter-attacks.

Upon the misunderstanding of the Junior Lions defenders, Myawady converted their opportunity into a goal.

Myawady’s striker Phone Kyaw Zin netted their second goal at 76 minutes.

After 2-0, Junior Lions changed their tactic with youth star Min Khant Maung coming into the team.

Substituted Min Khant Maung scored the team’s healing goal just before the match ended but the team got no enough time for their equalizer.

With this winning score, Myawady FC is standing in the third place with six wins and one loss of 18 points and Junior Lion FC is currently at the first with the same point and goal differences with Myawady and second-placed team, Chinland FC. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
