MoFA transfers ballot papers of advance voters abroad to UEC

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed over the sealed ballot papers of advance voters sent by 8 Myanmar embassies, missions and consulate-general offices abroad to the Union Election Commission yesterday.


Director-General of Planning and Administrative Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Aung Soe Win presented the ballot papers to Director-General for UEC U Khin Maung Oo.


The Myanmar embassies, missions and consulate-general offices abroad that opened polling stations for Myanmar citizens sent back the ballot papers of advance voters to the ministry.


The ministry already handed over the ballot papers from a total of 42 embassies, missions and consulate-general offices – 4 on 14 October, 2 on 15 October, 28 on 19 October and 8 on 22 October – to UEC to date.


The ministry, when the remaining ballot papers of the respective polling stations abroad are received, will also transfer them to the commission.
