MOHS holds stakeholders meeting to reformulate National Health Policy

Ministry of Health and Sports organized a meeting of stakeholders to reformulate the 1993 version of National Health Policy yesterday.

Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe delivered a speech at the meeting in the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Minister said that the new version of this policy is aimed to suit the changing trends of health conditions, availability of budget and funds, modern medical technologies, equipment, human resources in the healthcare services, global trends and developing situations.

The meeting sought ideas and recommendations from veteran experts from health sector, service personnel, UN agencies, local and international NGOs, donor organizations, civil organizations and partner organizations of the ministry.

The new National Health Policy will include its objectives, goals, prioritized pillars, approaching methods and work strategy, implementation framework, cooperation framework, monitoring and analysis, research, accurate health information system and reasonable allocation of budgets.

Dr Htin Lin, Deputy Director General from Public Health Department, presented a summary of reformulating procedures and the members of National Health Policy Reformulating Work Committee made discussions.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
