MoI, MoE hold virtual meeting on schoolbook printing

The School Textbook Printing and Distribution Committee held its 4/2020 coordination meeting on the printing and distribution of quality schoolbooks in time for 2021-2022 academic year via videoconferencing yesterday morning.


Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint, Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi, Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun, Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun, departmental heads and committee members joined the meeting.


During the meeting, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint, in his capacity as chairman of committee, said Chairmen of the School Textbook Printing Sub-committee and School Textbook Distribution Sub-Committee— Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun and Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun discussed quality schoolbook printing works for 2020-2021 academic year in former meetings and some facts and decisions of these meetings will be revised during the present meeting.


Then, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi expressed words of thanks, on behalf of his ministry, to Union Minister of Information and other officials for their supports in printing and distributing quality schoolbooks in time according to the procedures and he also discussed compiling syllabus for school textbooks for 2021-2022 academic year, cooperation works to complete in time and timely work process to print new schoolbooks after getting approval from the National Curriculum Committee.


Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, in his capacity as Deputy Chair of School Textbook Printing Sub-Committee continuously explained work condition of committee and facts to make decision during this 4/2020 coordination meeting.


Deputy Ministers U Aung Hla Tun and U Win Maw Tun later briefed work conditions of each sub-committee while other committee members presented work programmes for respective sector in printing schoolbooks.


Then, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung took record on decisions of 4/2020 coordination meeting of the School Textbook Printing and Distribution Committee.


Union Minister Dr Pe Myint made a conclusion remark on the meeting after the discussions of Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi.
