Mongnai residents undertake community cleanup campaign

A group of about 200 locals from Loilem and Namtmawlay Villages carried out a community cleanup activity in the precinct of an ancient religious building and a pagoda in Narhong Ward in Mongnai Township, Southern Shan State this morning.

The pagoda was built by Mongnai Sawbwa (chieftain) Sao Kyaw Zan and Prince Maung San in 1908. Arrangements are being made by Chairman of the township Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee presiding monk of the Weikzarriya Monastery Saddhanma Jotika Dhaja Bhaddanta Margeinda to renovate the beautify the pagoda and its precinct.
