MoSWRR organizes virtual meeting on framework for social harmony

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, other officials of the ministry, Paung Sie Facility and Australia’s Football United yesterday morning participated in an online meeting on setting a framework for social harmony.


During the meeting, the Union Minister said that Myanmar is working on for strengthening the rule of law, socio-economic development, national reconciliation, peace and creating a Democratic Federal Union. He stressed that social harmony is essential in trying to eradicate conflicts in the country. The Ministry occasionally holds social harmony workshops and meetings with organizations and residents from the relevant areas, according to the Union Minister, who pointed out that his ministry alone cannot promote social harmony. He highlighted the need for negotiations, trust building and cooperation among government departments, groups, civil society organizations and different communities to foster intercommunal harmony.


He said that the long process to establish social harmony needs a framework and welcomed the cooperation by Paung Sie Facility and Australia’s Football United in the process Paung Sie Facility and Australia’s Football United explained about the detailed plans, and then the Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the Permanent Secretary and the Directors-General made necessary suggestions and said that COVID-19 preventive measures must be taken in working for social harmony.—MNA
