Myanmar migrant workers repatriated by Thai authorities

Tachileik 13 March

Three Myanmar migrant workers were sent back by Thai authorities to Myanmar authorities at Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge-2 this afternoon.

The migrant workers were handed over by a group led by Mesai Immigration Officer Mr. Wason Koomhangsoing. With the help of medical staff, officials from Department of Immigration, Township General Administration Department, Anti-Trafficking Police Force, Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens (CNCMC) checked the migrant workers whether they were infected with the coronavirus and received the workers to send back to their homes safely.

The migrant workers were repatriated due to the expiry of their cross border pass and illegal stay in Thailand without proper documents.
