Myanmar to play friendly match with Thailand

2 January

In preparation for the upcoming qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020, Myanmar’s national women’s football team will play a friendly match with Thailand’s team this month.

“The football association of Thailand has invited the MFF to this friendly match this week. We plan to move our practice sessions to China ahead of the qualifiers, so we are negotiating for this match to be held in January,” stated U Ko Ko Thein, secretary-general of the Myanmar Football Federation.

Myanmar’s national women’s football team is preparing for the qualifying round of the 2020 Olympic Games, which will be held at the Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo, South Korea, on 3-9 February.

As North Korea’s team has withdrawn from the competition, Myanmar’s chances at the Games have improved. The Myanmar team will meet host South Korea and Viet Nam in the final qualifying round.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
