The ceremony for laying the foundation stone of the new religious building and the ordination of 50 monks took place on 16 March at the Vihara Vipassana Giri Yadana Temple in Bogor, Indonesia, attended by the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN and the Ambassador of Myanmar to Indonesia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Vihara Vipassana Giri Yadana Temple has been in existence in Indonesia for over 20 years and was officially recognized as a Buddhist Vipassana Temple only in 2024.
The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new religious building at the Vihara Vipassana Giri Yadana Temple and the ordination ceremony of 50 monks were conducted by Buddhists in Indonesia. Thailand's Permanent Representative to ASEAN, Mr Urawadee Sriphiromya, and Myanmar's Permanent Representative laid the foundation stone and contributed cash donations to the ordination ceremony of 50 monks. — ASH/TH
