Myanmar teams to compete in 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers

MYANMAR women football teams will compete in U-20 and U-17 Qualifiers of the 2022 AFC Asian Cup, with a right to host the first leg of both tournaments, according to football authorities.

 

Myanmar, Bangladesh, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Viet Nam will host the first round of the Asian Cup U-17 Women’s Qualifiers. Similarly, the first round of the Asian Cup-20 Women’s Championship Qualifiers will be hosted by Myanmar, Australia, China, Chinese (Taipei), Laos, Mongolia, Singapore and Tajikistan.

 

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has planned to hold both tourneys in 2021, with the first leg of the AFC U-20 Championship scheduled from 13 to 21 March. The second round matches are set to play from 18 to 22 August.

 

Also, the first round of the Asian Cup U-17 will be convened from 3 to 11 April and second round of the tourney will be played from 22 September to 26.

 

Thirty-four teams will compete in the tourney, which will be divided into eight groups of four, six and five teams. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
